Horse Breeding
Horse Breeding has been going on for centuries. It is the technique of finding the right bloodlines and qualities of each horse so that the resulting offspring is an improvement of each parent. This is true for any breed or type of horse or pony. Horse Breeding has even been learned and handed down through families. The Thoroughbred of the United States is the most recorded breed so far in Horse Breeding has become a fun and interesting hobby for some people, and a very good business for the professional Horse trainer. Young Horse training starts at day one and goes on from there. Imprinting foals has become a very useful tool in the long term training of young horses. When the foal arrives, certain things are done to it so it is accepting of all of the things a person wants to do to the horse or pony. Whether it will become a show jumping horse or a pleasure horse this technique is a useful tool in horse breeding. The more accepting the foal is the easier it is to handle, and the safer it is to be around. Horse Breeding is based on the quality of the broodmare and how its qualities are combined with those of the stallion . When I was faced with the decision as to how to breed a 15.3 hand Thoroughbred mare, I chose a welsh pony stallion. This cross has created a welsh pony colt with good looks and brains. The Welsh pony is a very smart breed and crossed with the qualities of the thoroughbred, it is a nice mix of looks, movement and brains. The creating part of Horse Breeding is the fun part. To Make your plans and then have to wait for the outcome makes horse breeding a very satisfying pastime.
